- I just read this and wondered if you'd heard of Floradix,

which is a liquid iron & B vitamin supplement. It is more easily

absorbed than tablets and it doesn't cause constipation like tablets

do. You can find it in any good health food store. I used it before

surgery and also after surgery, and it was recommended by a nurse

friend who'd had the surgery and also my massage therapist.

Just a suggestion, I see you're in hospital so it may not be an

option for you,

surgeon doesn't know if I was anemic before the surgery or if the

surgery caused it. He asked if i had notcied that I was anemic

prior to the surgery I said no. He also asked if I had been feeling

tired, run down etc before the surgery and I said yes, and that's

the signs of anemia. I was aksed why I didn't act on this and see my

Dr but I explained to him that my grandmother who I was very close

to had recently passed away and i had just started a new job working

in a children's dasy nursery so I thaught it was down to that.

the surgery and my iron levels still aren't picking up which is a

concern for us right now as it should be picking up without the iron

medication (tablets are a lot better than liquid). He will run

further tests this week while i'm in hospital.

the weight on, so we will see. Though I am totally against any kind

of tube especially a feeding tube down my nose.

I haven't heard of it but I will mention it to my Dr the liquid iron I was on

was sytron. And my Dr has changed it to a different one to see if it will bring

my iron levels back up.

I will ask my Dr in the morning thank you!

- When I was anemic some years ago, my doctor told me to take

some pills called " Slow Fe " . They are a time-release kind of pill and

seemed to really help. I took some liquid iron supplement too for a

while, but I remember that it tasted rather metallic and that it made

me constipated. Hope you are feeling better! ~~ Diane
