Help! How do you take the steriods?

I'm not sure if you are sired, banded or no bands. I had no bands and

could open my mouth a tiny bit. After grinding my pills and mixing

with water (nasty), I took tweezers and using a mirror put it as far

back on my tongue as I could. Then I was able to get it down with

water. After I learned this trick it made it much easier. If you are

wired or banded hopefully someone else will have a great trick. Take

I have only a guess on this one, but usually the steroids (note that

the o goes before the i, if you're doing an online search) go in

through a needle or an iv line.

What I am guessing is grossing you out -- and I'm no pro about all

this -- is the antibiotics. And yes. They are very important, no

matter how gross. They usually come in a liquid form, at least until

your poor sore throat has recovered, or you have been unwired. Your

body is stressed. You are vulnerable to infections. You do not wish

to risk stopping the course of the meds until you've taken them all.

Unlike the steroids, they're usually taken by mouth. They're usually

nasty. And they are usually very, very important, right down through

the last dose.

So keep on plugging. Call your doc (do you need for me to tell you

that?) if you're in serious trouble with the flavor, and maybe

there's another way to do it. Cleocin, I think, is the most

infamous, and one person found that she could chase it with either

strong coffee or strong green tea, and make it more palatable.
