Hi ,

IUGR stands for Intrauterine Growth Retardation -- meaning

slow growth while still in the uterus. It is one of the first indicators

of RSS and other growth disorders.

Many of the mothers on this list had C-sections (my wife

included) because their RSS chld was growing too slow before

he/she was even born.

I hope this helps.

- when you mentioned running tests - who are they being

held through? Have you seen a geneticist yet? I suppose I'm

probably asking questions that may have already been asked - I'm old

and a little forgetful. <grin>

It's good to know that I went thru what others did. I

had an unplanned c-section about 2 weeks before

was due. the docs couldn't give me a due date because

her growth measurments were measuring about a month

behind. Her head was right on track.. but her body was

measuring smaller. When I had her, the docs found that

the placenta wasn't doing it job and the cord was the

size of a pencil. No one could give me answers as to

why she wasn't growing... i was suppost to be going to

some good docs.. but I guess they can't know it all.

Thanks for the info!

- I can relate. Ian was the same - but, my physicians

were morons. His cord was very thin, short and wrapped around his

neck twice. I actually saw this " bubble " like picture on my

ultrasounds - well - now we all know what it was - The Cord!

Take Care.- H-
