Guest guest
Stefani, Thanks for the great idea. I've used a heating pad for my chest cough pain relief but never thought to use the husk filled warm pad (that I use on my stiff neck) to help with sinus pressure and pain. Thanks again. Stay warm and dry. We had snow for about 8 hours today with 36 degrees...not my kind of weather at all. I hate winter; especially cold and damp times. It is sort of early for snow to stick to the ground here in Philadelphia but at least it's now stopped and the roads were never a problem. The snow just dusted the grassy areas.( about 2 inches) Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z 65, fibriotic NSIP/05/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! I came down with a sinus infection that really threw me for a loop. I could barely sleep and the CPAP was forcing drainage down my throat. I actually sat up most of the first night. Second night, I took a sudafed tablet and that helped for about 6 hours. Today I felt like crap. My husband made me chicken soup, tea and kept asking if he could help. I was coughing and in pain from the sore throat and trunk muscles. Then tonight, on a lark, I dug out the heat pack (an oatmeal stuffed tube that is heated in the microwave). I heated it up for two minutes. I put it across my head and fell asleep with my oxygen plugged in. I woke up with no headache, no aches and pains and my throat was no longer raw... felt like a miracle cure. I don't like to take additional medications if I don't have to and try to limit them to when I need them most (like night time for sleeping). However, I will tell you I feel 150% better than I did this afternoon and evening before I got the brainstorm to try the heat pack. It also makes the incisions from my biopsy less bothersome (occasionally they start "tingling"). Hope you find this helpful with this cold season upon us. Guest guest
Pink Joyce I actually bought it already made....The tag on it says " Comfort Clinic " outof California... and of course, made in China. Not sure it is oatmeal either, just says 100% organic. Cotton fabric, rope handles on each end. Fits real nice around the neck, over the face or over the back. It warms in the microwave in 2 minutes and it is advisable to wrap in a hand towel to prevent " burning " the skin.
