Yes, we are finally getting used to the fact that my Dad, who we thought would be around forever, is gone forever, but still asks for his " Pop Pop " , which throws us into the dilemma of what to tell him. He says " Pop Pop, home? " , whenever he doesn't see him at our house and questions as to where he is lately. I'm dreading the trip to NYC in a way, because it will be the first time I see my brother and his family since Dad's passing, and also the first time in many many years, that we'll visit the " old neighborhood " where we grew up, went to school and attended church. I totally agree with what Leah said. It really does help to revisit those memories. It's very cathartic! Take it from someone who's been through it twice. You know, I remember years ago Duff and I had taken a trip to New England. We were just taking a drive and enjoying the sites, listening to the Mills Brothers on tape. I turned to Duff and said that when my father passes, I'm sure I'd never be able to listen to them. It would surely be too painful (my Dad was a Mills Brothers/Nat King Cole/Bing Crosby fanatic). But guess what? When he died I became fanatical. It was the ONLY music I listened to and I listened ALL DAY LONG!!!!! It truly helped me grieve and in some way, gave me a great deal of comfort. It's been 4 years and I still listen to my Dad's CD's (Plus I got all his records since I'm the only one still with a turntable), but am now able to listen to all *my* stuff too.....;-) , I've been thinking. This whole thing may also change your relationship with your brother. For good or bad, I don't know. But I do know that it's been my experience that sibling relationships do go through an evolution in this whole process. I've been lucky; ours has been very very good. Good luck dear, and let us know how you make out!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}} Donna

Guest guest
, Thanks for sharing with us your feelings of the day. I know how horrible it must have been to not know if your sister was ok. Thanks goodness she was. You are so right that our kids have to operate on a level that is unbearable sometimes. It is good to keep that into perspective. Glad to know that Mike was able to get through such a rough time. There is still so much uncertainty. I agree that we need to stay strong. I have actually turned numb. I have been teaching this week and busy working at the home school program and have had little time to watch or listen to the news, but when I do it is an almost unreal feeling. Keep us updated on how Mike and your family are doing. Guest guest
Some years ago they filmed a commercial in our neighborhood, one of the gals worked for the production company. They had one professional actor and then used neighborhood kids. It was fun to watch but the actor was the worst actor in the bunch. The kids did great, he was a mess. Oh, and he was an adult. Guest guest
Hi This kind off the wall reminds me that they are going to film a movie here in our town of Nevada, Mo. It is called " The s " and is supposed to be a drama/thriller about salesmen. I don't know much about it other than that but Hollywood was here last week looking around. Maybe they'll knock on our door looking for extras! Re: NYC > Some years ago they filmed a commercial in our neighborhood, one of > the gals worked for the production company. Guest guest
Hi la, We went to CT and were very happy with the competence of their staff and the results that were achieved with the DOCband. Were you not happy with them and are looking for another provider in Manhattan? I know that some people have used zipcars in the past to get to Paramus. If you are looking in Brooklyn, contact Rochelle at Kidi-Splints: http://www.kidisplint.com/pediatrics_cranial.html I think they are in Crown Heights by the Kingsboro Hospital.
