Guest guest
FYI - Today was a set-back. Ian developed a bacterial infection (probably started at the hospital). I looked at his wound / G-tube site this morning and noticed not only puss but, his skin had actually opened up/ripped and there was a hole larger than the size of a pea next to his G-tube sight - almost the size of a dime actually. Okay – I have to admit – I've handled all of this very well – but, I pretty much freaked out. I called the doc and they didn't even tell me to take my time getting there – they told me to come in immediately. So, we rushed to the Hospital this morning – they cleaned the site (I was in the other room bawling my eyes out in a nurses lap while he screamed blue bloody murder at the top of his lungs – a blood curdling scream – it was horrible). He is now on antibiotics and I have to clean the site not 2 times a day now – but, 3 times a day. Let's just say it's not easy looking at it. I get queasy just thinking about it. We have to go back to the hospital tomorrow so they can look at it again to make sure it hasn't gotten worse over night. They told me to keep an eye out for formula or blood coming through the hole. Nice eh? I'm okay though. Tomorrow is a new day. My dh is back from being out of town since Friday. I'm exhausted. - H
