Guest guest
Carissa, They finally agreed to make a new band!!! We got the good news on Wednesday, after 2 weeks of complaining!! Just when I thought my complaining wasn't being heard, our orthotist agreed that he didn't like the fit either. He spent 2 weeks adding a pad here or a bumper there and nothing seemed to work. On Valentine's day I went to their office twice. I basically asked him WHY if the purpose of the band is to touch on certain areas (to prevent further growth) is the band slipping? It basically makes the band useless. I also have a friend that is an orthotist and he said the bands should NEVER need anything added...just taken away (if they were made to fit in the first place.) My neurosurgeon has told us that if this band doesn't fit correctly, he will personally call and make them transfer the band somewhere else. We'll find out Wednesday...fingers crossed!! ****Just keep fighting for that new band!! I was in their office 5 times last week....I think they got sick of me but that's what it took!! Hang in there!! ~ > > Ugh, we're in the same boat. Got the band 2 weeks ago and it pops off everytime she lays down. So much for wearing it 23 hours a day. The orthotist just keeps blaming her " changing " head and has put a pad on the top covering her breathing hole and a huge ledge in the back. Still coming off. I asked about a new helmet and he just said the same thing would happen. This cannot be right! UGH! Time is of the essence. I know we are just ONE patient to him but he is all we have. So frustrating. >
