Guest guest
This is very interesting. Are you taking enzymes concurrently? But came back 2 days after starting broccoli. So I did the same again and I don't have any more rabbits dots! (I eat winter squash/pumpkin, carrot and cauliflower, tried peas yesterday). > > > > Kariane > > scd 13 months > > www.scdandme.com > > >
Guest guest
I read somewhere that the acid " kills " enzymes, so I haven't been taking them. I need to look into it a little more though to see if that's true. I have a hypothesis I'm currently testing with the Betaine HCl. I've been anemic since I got crohn's. The only thing that helps is iron infusions. However, I think (but am not positive) that my last blood test was just a tiny bit higher then the previous one. You need stomach acid to properly absorb iron. So I've been taking a couple of dessicated iron tabs with my Betaine HCl every night, and I also eat raisins (high in iron) every 2 or 3 nights. My next blood test is in a couple of weeks. We'll see if my iron levels change for the better *crosses fingers*. Guest guest
Holly...sorry I did not see this until now. I read somewhere, I believe on 'Bee's candida support' site, that one should not take enzymes until 1.5 hours after eating, when the meal is in the small intestine and the medium is alkaline. I may be entirely mistaken about this but that is what I recall. If there is validity here you may be able to take the enzymes after all. I am taking the acid and waiting 1.5hrs to take the enzymes. Whether or not they are being subverted by the acid, I have no idea. Best... Guest guest
This is an interesting idea but I'm a little skeptical, because I've read many times that if you are using bromelain, taking it with meals helps with digestion and if you take it between meals it helps with inflammation. Which implies (to me, anyhow) that any digestive aid would be taken with the meal. But, maybe not. Holly...sorry I did not see this until now.
