Hi,

I'm sorry to say that Accutaine as well as Larium, are versions of the

generic drug,

Mefloquine. Lariam is the anti-malarial drug which has caused a

number of very serious and often difficult if impossible to reverse

problems, including brain stem damage. Our friend, Sue Rose, an

attorney with aMasters in Public Health -- sorry to say the late Sue

Rose, who is the friend who turned me on to SCD, was also a key person

doing work on this issue. She made a fabulous film/dvd on this

issue. I do not think it ever got to the point of being released. It

is a heart breaker-- as were the eulogies of folks she helped who had

taken one or another form of this drug.

Here is a website that, while labeled Lariam, may be helpful to anyone

considering any version of Mefloquine: www.lariaminfo.org/

The following was sent by a friend. I am posting it here for anyone to

whom it may be of interest.

There are a bunch of advertisements being run by personal injury

attorneys about the acne drug called Accutane. They claim that it

causes Crohn's Disease.

I took anti-malaria pills in 1992 when I went to India, don't remember the name.

Hmm, Accutane is Isotretinoin, C20H2802  a retinoid, and Mefloquine is C17H16F6N02.  In other words, they have totally different chemical structures.

That said, I'm glad I never took Accutane. The antibiotics for acne were bad enough.--

Thank you for posting this julie and others before hand... i was on Roaccutane

for 9 months when in year 11/12 (high school- australia!) and I firmly believe

that it set me up for a weakened liver, thus glandular fever (mono), then

contributed to chronic fatigue, and I got IBS somewhere along the way too....

all related for sure!

I understand now the bioenergetics of the body a lot more, and wholistic health

and healing, but still feel that Roaccutane is a nasty nasty drug, and that if

the side effects had really been pointed out to me, and the significance of

damaged liver function etc I would NOT have taken it!

Having said that, it was a saving grace and my skin became IMMACULATE!

Self love and inner peace all the way though.....
