3 Mos Update-Post Lefort 1, BSSO, genio, etc.

Hi all,

Just saw both OS and OD today. OS wanted to check and make sure I

didn't have any shift on lower jaw. All looked good. I don't see

him again for 2 mos.

OD decided to change my rubber band configuration. He's trying to

pull the rt. upper teeth down to fit the bottom better. So now I

have two triangles on adjoing teeth with Class 3 rubber bands

(Elephant) on rt side. On the other side he's leaving just the

Class 2 bands (Impala). I can hardly open my mouth with the 2

Elephants sitting on teeth. The teeth are already getting sore.

At least I can take them off to eat and brush.

Numbness is almost completely gone. Maybe ever so slight numbness

in chin. But I can live with that.

I mentioned I'm still biting my lip and OS said to wait until the OD

is done with braces. I still have to put wax there at night to keep

from biting the lip.

All in all, I think things have gone well, despite a little bit of a

rough time the first week after surgery. For all you Pre-opers and

Post-Opers, just remember it does get better. Thanks for everyone's
