Guest guest
Hey all. I talked to a couple of times tonight. She said that Ian has been sleeping so much of the day since he came back from surgery. The doctor said that things went very well during the procedure and has him on a reflux medicine, I think she told me. I can't remember now what it was called. But, he is in some pain, but that is expected. She asked the doctor to write out an order for Morphine and Benadryl for tonight, just in case he needs it. Right now the site is bandaged so she can't see much, but there is blood coming out of the tube itself. Now, no one panic. This is completely normal. The site will bleed for a period of time, which comes through the end of the tube. had this same thing happen and I ended up with a very bloody shirt. Thank goodness for my mom who spent days soaking and washing it until it came clean. I still have the shirt and it holds so many memories. But, I wanted to let all of you know that the surgery went well and Ian is doing as well as anyone can expect. Sleeping a lot, too. So, when I get a longer time to speak with , I will let her know, and Jeanie, that you all wanted me to let her know you were thinking and praying for them. She is doing a great job and understandably a little nervous about the new tube, but things will work out fine. They are both doing wonderfully! Jodi R.
