Don't we all, but as you well know life is not fair. I wear a size 16 and am

very happy to be instead of the size 30 I wore before.

feeling like a failure

Hi all

I just read a post from one of my old friends from another list that

she's down to 125 and she had her surgery like 2 months after me.

She said she wears 8's, 6's and 4's. And here I am still at 16's.

What's wrong with me? Why can't I do it like she has? I don't want

to give up but something inside me obviously has because I'm still

fat. :( Then I see the side of me struggling and continuing the

fight daily - so I know there is something inside me that is a

fighter. I'm just so...down...so disappointed...and feeling

envious... :( I like her a lot and I think she's wonderful so it's

not like I DON'T like her. I just wish I were in her shoes I

guess.... *deep sigh* I feel like crying....

Aali, did she start out the same weight as you, the same height, and

the same age? Even if she did, Sweetie, we are all different and we

all lose at different rates. I try to counsel new post-ops who watch

others lose more than them after just a few months and lament, to

stop judging their loss against others, otherwise they will never be

happy because there will always be someone who loses faster and more

than you do..just like there are some who can lose oodles of weight

and not need plastics and others who lose under a hundred and look

like a charpei! We are all different. All you can do is follow the

pouch rules, eat well, drink your water, watch that snacking/carbs

and exercise. The more dedicated you are to the program, the better

you will do, but again, its at your own rate.

Keep this in mind too, in order for your friend to maintain her size

4, she has to eat alot less than you do in a day. I don't know about

you, but I still love my food, so I prefer to stay a size 10-12, than

even attempt to go down to single digits. To me that equals less

food and is not worth it to me!
