Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this group. Does anybody know of any good orthnogatic surgeons in the Northeast (particularly Boston, but it could be elsewhere)? How do I find good surgeons in my area? How did you find your surgeon? I've been asking these questions on many boards but nobody has been able to help me. Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
You can ask your Orthodontist to recommend someone. Thats what I did and I have one of the best surgerns in my city.
Guest guest
I found my surgeon through my orthodonitis. He is located in Seattle Washington and I have experienced an awesome recovery. Guest guest
Hello there and welcome to this group! I found MY awesome Surgeon in a round-about way. My dentist referred me to him to get an abcessed tooth extracted this past Spring. I work at a large hospital, know alot of doctors, and some I just pass in the halls. At my extraction consult, my Surgeon walked in the room; he and I looked at each other, said " I know YOU! " and laughed in unison - we had seen each other at the hospital but never met until just this moment. He asked me what I was there for and I said to have a tooth extracted; that I wasn't there for the surgery that he would love to perform on me and showed him my underbite. He said he'd love to fix my bite, and that we could discuss it after the extraction, but all we did at the consult was talk about my underbite. I felt totally and completely at ease with him. Before my extraction, I told him I wanted him to do my Orthognathic Surgery, and he was thrilled! He referred me to an OD that he has worked with on surgical cases; I've had my braces on for the last ten weeks! I live in Boise, Idaho and my OMS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon) is Dr. , MD, DDS. I will be having a BSSO for mandibular set-back and a LeFort 1-piece to advance my maxilla. My surgery will be next June (or earlier if my teeth continue to move as they already have).// To get a great OMS: I think you can get a referral from an Orthodontist specially trained to handle surgical cases. Your dentist might know of some good Orthodontists and Surgeons too. You might have to call around or do a web search.(try: Boston Oral Surgery, Boston Orthodontics, etc.) Also, try Harvard Univ. and U.Mass. - I don't know if they have a Dental School, but if they do, someone there can give you some names. Good luck! Take care. ~~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > Hi, > > I'm new to this group. Does anybody know of any good orthnogatic > surgeons in the Northeast (particularly Boston, but it could be > elsewhere)?
