Guest guest
I bought this cookbook " fix it and forget about it " , great book for crockpot lovers by the way. One of the recipes is you just throw the frozen chicken breasts in the pot and turn it on, then I put a packet of taco seasoning in about 1/4 cup water and pour over the top. I also throw in frozen beef roasts and dump powder onion soup mix with some water over it and cook all afternoon. Protein Crock pot? How about a simple recipe for chicken in a crock pot? And I mean simple as in cooking for dummies simple... and do I always have to defrost the chicken or can I put it in frozen? Signed, The most inept cook ever... Guest guest
, The simplist Chicken Crockpot recipe I know would be the stroganoff . . . 1 can cream of mushroom, 12 oz. sour cream and one envelope dry onion soup mix added to boneless chicken breasts and cooked in the crock on high for 6 to 8 hours. Tender and yummy! Here's another I got off my yahoo crockpot group. Haven't tried it yet but it sounds good! Crockpot Chicken Cacciatore 4 piecesof frozen chicken breasts 1 large onion, thinly sliced 1 large green bell pepper, sliced 2 small can sliced mushrooms, drained 1 jar of chunky garden style spaghetti sauce salt, pepper, oregano, basil to taste Put all ingredients in crockpot and cook 6-8 hrs. I always put my meat into the crock thawed or just BARELY frozen. It can really slow down the cooking time frozen and you want to watch putting extrememly colkd stuff into the crock so it doesn't crack, just like using a stone for cooking. Good luck! Rev.
