Guest guest
Hi all, I have been a silent member of this group for a little while. I had my upper, lower and genio surgery on 9/27. I am badly counting on all your support and guidance, espcially, of those that have seen or seeing through this phase. My case was of that of an overbite, the doc said that everthing went per plan, except for the lower jaw. He had earlier said that he would move the upper jaw by 3 mm, and push it backwards by 2 mm, and the lower would be advanced by 12 mm. After the surgery he said that he had to advance the lower by 18 mm. Is this weird? has anyone had a lower jaw brought fwd by so much? Anyway, my problem is now on another angle- i got a sore throat and sinus just before the surgery, and that has aggraveted now. Now, 2 days, post-op, I am totally congested, banded-shut (for 6 weeks, I am told), have this feeling of suffocation. I almost had two panic attacks, as I am not used to both the nose and mouth blocked. Any suggestions to stay strong? This morning, a couple of coughs brought out blood from my nose into my throat, and I couldn't get it out easily from my mouth.....how long does the stuffy nose & congestion usually stay. I have been reading some of the emails, but, would appreciate if folks can comment specifically. Any details wold be greatly appreciated. Sorry for venting out, but, now, I realize the value of this newsgroup much more :-) Thanks, Sriram
