Hi Eileen! I had the same problem for about 6 weeks after starting the diet. It

has been clearing up. I think you need to give it some time. How long have you

been on the diet?

Eileen, mucous is produced by irritated bowel as a protective mechanism against

an irritant, and it is seen in IBS and IBD. Remember from BTVC, it is the gut's

first response to an irritant and damage is done when the bacteria break down

the mucous defense of the bowel.

You just may be irritated from this last episode or ate something. I do this

once in a while- usually in response to something I ate. If you see a lot of

it, or it gets worse, then you would have to think you are sensitive to

something, but I would not be super worried if it happens rarely- it's the gut's

defense mechanism at work.
