Guest guest
Hi Nay:) I am not sure if I can help you with just a Leforte 1 as I had both. I had a Leforte 1 to widen my palate and my lower jaw was brought forward about 8mm. I to was very parinoid of having this done but now that it is done I look back and say now that wasn't to bad. Sure I am unconfortable sometimes but I think I would do it again if I had to. I didn't have tmj issues just a very deep overbite which I no longer have I beleive you will be just fine. I had a awsome doctor and great nurses which made me feel really comfortable. Hope I was of some help. Guest guest
Hi Nay, I had a a Lefort 1-3 piece on June 28th. The surgery corrected my open bite and narrow upper pallet. The surgery was a 5.5 hour surgery and I stayed in the hospital for 2 days. I was not splinted or banded after surgery. After about 4 weeks post op my OS tightly banded me to correct a slight overbite and crossbite that was present after surgery. This has been completely corrected with the bands. The procedure was really not nearly as bad as I had thought it would be. Anyway, feel free to ask me any specific questions that you may have! Guest guest
How could you not be banded or splinted? How did they keep your jaw from moving? I'm sorry, I thought everyone had to be banded or splinted after a Le Forte surgery. Do you have any numbness? I see a lot of people talk about numbness? What about stuffiness for your nose? And what is the difference between Lefort 1 and lefort 3? Why would you need a 3 piece versus a 1 piece? I guess I had more questions than I thought.... thanks for your help Stacey --- georgek042003 wrote: > Hi Nay, > > I had a a Lefort 1-3 piece on June 28th.
