Day 5 post-op - from Irene

Hi Everyone,

How was your weekend?

Today is my day 5 after the surgery. Just like what Dennis has said,

the swellng comes down bit by bit everyday, especially the left side of

my face/chin. The right side is still swollen.

Yesterday (day 4), i saw quite a bit of green/blue bruises on both

sides of the chin but today, much of them is disappearing. My OS said

that there would be some swelling below my eyes in Day 4/5 and so it is.

I don't have much pain after the surgery because I have quite a bit of

numbness especially the upper palate inside the mouth and the chin

area. I am wondering if this numbness will affect the speed of

diminishing swelling.

I have also started feeling some very light dull pain probably where

the sutures are and at the right side of the chin. The surgeon said

that it is normal because the body is rebuilding the nerve system there.

Before I stop typing here, I would like to thank Diane (Idaho)'s warm

healing thoughts.

BTW, does anyone have any idea if the swelling will all diminish at the

end on the face? I have such question because after removing 4 pre-

molars last year, i feel that the local swelling stay on my face. So, I

am a bit worried about this.
