Guest guest
So if a rny patient has never observed oil droplets, does this mean that he/she isn't malabsorbing fat? Well, that explains why I have been a snail's pace loser. Hmm. > Maureen, > > An " oil " slick is droplets of oil on top of the toilet water after a loose > stool which indicates that fat was not absorbed by your body by passed > during a bowel movement. > > in Austin > RNY April 1998 > 315/190s > Re: " sliders " > > I asked a question when I read someone use the phrase " oil slick " . Guest guest
I never had that oil slick, and lost slowly, but still lost over the course of about 3 years, for a total 150 pounds. But, after 4 1/2 years of pretty much maintaining with little effort, combined with being very bad over the holidays, I have gained 10 pounds. I think I was lucky to last that long, and now it's payback time. <sigh> in NJ ********************** > So if a rny patient has never observed oil droplets, does this mean that he/she isn't malabsorbing fat? Guest guest
No, it doesn't mean that. Being as radically distal as I am, I should have them, nothing but, and lots of them. Not the case at all. My labs indicate that I'm not absorbing those fats/oils. But the other thing confuses the issue. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc.
