Guest guest
Sometimes life sucks. LOL In the last 10 days, I've had prowlers at least twice. You have to remember, I live in the country, on a farm. About 10 days ago, , my friend's daughter who has been staying with me off and on, went out to get something out of my pickup. She found someone IN my pickup, and yelled at me. I went out with a gun. I was in law enforcement for 23 years, and I have night sights on it. He took off. No shots fired. I locked the tool shed. Fred probably has 20 thousand dollars worth of tools in there. The next day, the local PD woke me up at 6:30 am, telling me I had horses out on the railroad tracks that run next to my property. I went out and put them back in. Jess had already left for Michigan to spend Christmas with her parents. I go out to get tools to go fix the fence. I can't get into the shed. There is something broken off in the lock. Obviously, someone has tried to get in there too. I had to call a locksmith to come out and pull the lock and put a new one on...I fixed all of my outside lights, and I now lock my doors at night and set the alarm, and my German Shepherd has taken to sleeping in front of the door, instead of in the bedroom. I've notified all of my friends that if they get a call from the county jail in the middle of the night, come get me out. Because if I catch somebody out here, I'm shooting to kill. And I'm not a bad shot. Even in the dark. I'm not afraid of being alone, but I am very frustrated that someone thinks I have something they want. And I'm not worried if they are " in my house " or not. If they are past the property line, and prowling, they are fair game, in my estimation. I'm a friend with the DA and my best friend is a judge. <VBG> A woman alone, out in the country...who would convict me? Guest guest
OMG, Jac! That's so scary! I totally agree, though. I'm not a fan of much of the NRA's stands, but this is your life & property you're protecting. Ya do what ya gotta do! Now, I'm really glad you were a cop, and know how and are not afraid to protect yourself. Hugs, in NJ ************************ > And I'm not worried if they are " in my house " or not.
