Guest guest
Hi Judy, I'm here in GF as well. I had Dr. Mortenson for my surgeon, he is a wonderful person and surgeon. He doesn't offer followup care, however he does give out information and makes sure you understand all of the changes, well before he performs the surgery. The Protein & Grad group have been my best teachers (thanks to you all!) I don't know why Dr. lost his hospital privileges either. When it initially happened there was quite a write up in the Tribune. This is just my poor mind recalling . . . so it may be quite inaccurate. The Tribune said that he had left to go to another town and left one of his patients without an on-call doctor. He refuted that, as did the on-call doctor. The patient was an elderly man who had undergone a non-wl related surgery and he died. Now the other swing of it, is that Benefis is angry at Dr. for building his own hospital as it provided competition and this is their way of getting back at him. So, I don't know what the deal is and perhaps we won't ever know. I didn't think that his privileges had been revoked all that long ago. Have you ever attended the local support group meetings? I went for about 6 months before surgery and then continued faithfully for about the next 6 months. Now it is hit and miss. Oh and can I ask who does your followup? My Dr. is learning with me as well, (weill) he has been really supportive and willing to listen/read what I bring. I was so astounded, because I had done my own research, that I fired him and had my PCP do my follow up. She is great, but then I supply her with information too. > > How do we find out why someone lost their license or privileges? > > > Judy H. , Author of over 20 books, > Parent Educator and Family Coach, > Personal Historian and Speaker/Trainer > Phone; judywright@... > website; www.artichokepress.com > " Finding the Heart of the Story in the Journey of Life. Guest guest
In FL you look at the FL Board of Licensing under Medical Quality Assurance. Look under Mt gov't then under licensure and see if they have <MQA.
