Guest guest
Hi Sheena, Good luck figuring all of this out! I think using a specific doctor and insurance coverage totally depends on where you are located and what insurance you have specific to your location... I've never heard of the insurance you mentioned, but hopefully someone here can help. Generally the surgery is considered medical and would be covered by your health insurance and not dental insurance. There is the whole process of restrictions, exclusions,if your case is deemed medically necessary, etc, etc. Try to find an experienced doctor- experienced not only with performing these surgeries, but also with handling the business end of things regarding insurance, submitting claims, making them go through, fighting for coverage for you, etc. Usually doctors are familiar with local insurance companies/plans and can give you a rough idea of what to expect- but always ask and don't assume! Good luck and definitely research all the resources available on this site because they'll be able to provide a lot of information for you! Katja > Hi, I'm new in here.
