Guest guest
Honey, I have done PLENTY of whining, so it's only fair I listen to some others -- although I don't really think you've been whiny at all. :-) Also, it took me about four years from my first ortho visit to getting the braces on. My first reaction to surgery was: Are you people crazy?! After I educated myself, though, I realized it was the right thing to do. I also canceled my first braces appointment because I'd found out the surgery was A LOT more expensive than I'd planned on. It took another year before I felt financially ready to go ahead. So believe me, I understand about indecision! Once I made up my mind, though, I was unstoppable. At first, I couldn't bear the thought of having braces -- all that annoying metal in my mouth -- and surgery, but when I got my mind wrapped around it, I became much more accepting of the process. Now I feel almost zen-like about the whole thing (well, most of the time). Yes, the fun is just beginning. The time really flies, though. Well, I've been lucky in that my teeth moved fast and I was ready for surgery earlier than planned. Hopefully I'll get the braces off sooner than planned, too. Have you decided what colors o-rings you're going to go with? I've had fun with mine -- I figure, they're just another fashion accessory!
