Guest guest
1. One year post-op going to Disney World and getting on the Rockin' Roller Coaster with my then 7 year old son. 2. Flying down to Florida all by myself for my brother's 40th birthday party and my nephew's christening. The fact that I could sit in a seat, cross my legs and not have to use a seatbelt extender would have been enough. When my brother saw me when I got to his house his eyes welled up and he said to me " my God you're beautiful " . This from the brother who I never got along with for 26 years. 3. Going shopping for the first time and having my friend hand me a size 14 pair of jeans and I panicked and told her no way. She asked me to humor her and try and they fit. Kind of like the sister bonding moment, except with my best friend. Most embarrassing moment: Stopped by a local bar that a friend of mine owns about two years post-op. Hadn't seen him in a few years and a bunch of us decided to go out. Steve is hugging everyone and he is this big burly guy with this voice that resonates over the loudest of music. He spots me, his eyes popped out of his head and gives me this big bear hug and starts to talk at the top of his voice because the band was playing. Well his sentence of " my God Regina you look f------ great, where the f--- is the rest of you " ? started just as the band stopped playing and everyone turned around to look at me. I just wanted to crawl in a hole and die. I still cringe when I think of all those people staring at me. Regina

Guest guest
1. I was shopping recently when a woman approached me and asked me if I were to buy this blouse, what size would I buy? She wanted to know because the person she was buying it for was like me, " tall and thin " ! THIN?? ME?? I could have just kissed her! 2. Taking our annual trip to Vegas for our anniversary and fitting comfortably in the plane seats, and being able to use the tray table. And not worrying that they might make me buy a second seat! And being able to walk all over Las Vegas and not get winded or have sore feet! 3. Enjoying my toddler grandson and being able to get down on the floor to play with him, chase him around, play out in the snow with him, pick him up, have him sit on my lap, and there really is a LAP there! (And best of all, he won't remember ever having a fat grandma!) Isn't life after WLS grand! Guest guest
Thanks, Janice! It really is special! My kids never knew me as anything other than fat. I couldn't go on amusement park rides with them and always sat out the active games. So now, I hope Justyn has fond memories of Grandma who took him out to play in his first snowfall! And it was such fun! Michele Open RNY 12/5/02 Dr ti, Albany, NY 296/185/160ish Re: Three Biggest WLS Moments > > > 1.
