I've been taking Pantethine for the last 2 months. I just had my blood test a

couple weeks ago, so I'll find out next week if it brought my LDL down. My HDL

and triglycerides are already very good. I believe I got those good numbers by

taking lots of fish oil (I take salmon oil, cod liver oil, and a sardine/anchovy

oil) and by not overdoing the carbs.

I recently read about a study that showed that 8 ounces of Tart Cherry Juice

(they were using the SCD legal Just Tart Cherry from Knudsen's) was helpful for

cholesterol. High doses of niacin and garlic are also supposed to be helpful. If

the pantethine doesn't work, I'm going to try one of these next.

Pantethine worked like a charm for me. My total cholesterol

dropped 123 points in 2 months! I took 1 (450mg) capsule 2x a day with food. I

knew it was doing something because 20 minutes or so after taking a capsule, I

would feel hungry! And I have rarely experienced hunger pangs in years.

My doctor, who wanted me on a statin drug, was amazed. He said

to keep taking that supplement. I thank Marilyn for the Pantethine suggestion.

I use Jarrow Formula 450 mg. I order it online. It has an illegal in it –

caramel (for light barrier) – but I don’t have any reaction to it.

I consider it “medicine”.

Glad to hear it was a helpful suggestion. Pantethine is good for a

number of things. I also use the Jarrow 450, and have not had trouble

with the bit of caramel -- the bottle I have does not even list that as a

component of the soft gel. Just gelatin, glycerin and water.

For people who are interested in reading more about pantethine, I

recommend

www.pantethine.net. The information is very useful here -- the

website does sell pantethine, but I have never purchased it from them, so

cannot make a recommendation pro or con their service and

quality.

Great! I've only been taking 1 450mg pill (those buggers are expensive), but if

I see results, I may go ahead and start taking 2. I also almost have my info

compiled as to why high LDL is not automatically bad, and why statins are no

good for women. I really have a lot of good info, so I don't see how my doctor

will be able to shoot it down.

Marilyn,

Thanks for the URL. I take pantethine and now reading here, I know

why! Also I'm reading about the CoEnzyme A, which I have also added

because of the mitochondrial failure protocol. Again, I'm delighted to

have more information about it. This looks like the brand of CoA I got

and there don't seem to be any illegals in it. When I got it, in

fact, I think it was the only CoA that I could find anywhere.

For people who are interested in reading more about pantethine, I recommend

www.pantethine.net. The information is very useful here -- the website does sell pantethine, but I have never purchased it from them, so cannot make a recommendation pro or con their service and quality.

Pantethine. See

www.pantethine.net -- I have not purchased from these folks, although

I do use the Jarrow 450 mg pantethine. But they have quite a bit of very

good information. I use the pantethine for a couple of other things, but

several people here say it helps.
