Guest guest
Rene - My OD told me at my Ortho Consult back in June that I would be in braces up to ten months before surgery and up to six months after. He said he was planning to call my OMS in May(2006) to tell him that I'm ready for my pre-surgery work-up for surgery in June, but he also told me that if my teeth move really fast that I could be ahead of schedule which would move my surgery up a month or two. He says it ALL depends on my teeth and how soon they will be aligned in my arches. Actually, I would prefer to have the surgery in late spring (April or May) so my co-workers' summer vacations won't be messed up, as I will be off from work for four to five weeks if I have both upper and lower done.// When will you be getting your braces installed? How long will you be in them before your surgery and then after? ~~~~ Diane :-)#) > > Well, I survived my first OD Adjustment today. Guest guest
Hey! Good to hear from you, we haven't talked in a while. I have my consult on Sept 19th, so I will get the braces installed as soon as they can get me in. I will know on the 19th how long they expect everything to take. I know I may be pushing it, but I would love an April surgery date. I don't know if you read my 'feel sorry for me' post, but my husband is leaving in May for a year, and it would be much easier if he were home for the initial recovery. Also, the pain is getting worse. I think the longer I am off the anti- inflammatories the worse the symptoms are. Anyway, in my dream world, April would be great. I am so glad everything is moving along for you. We may be surgery buddies, huh. Rene` > > > Well, I survived my first OD Adjustment today.
