Guest guest
, Are you going to the Convention??? We can sit and commiserate! LOL My Kaity, (you might have met her, she's been to the last 3 conventions), is now 16, and I too would gladly PAY someone to finish the job!! LOL Kaity is a wonderful young lady, and I am SO proud of her (most of the time) but some days......... I, too, thought that maybe all the " attitude " had something to do with the needs of my g-kids. Aidan was born when Kaity was 10, and came home to our house, usurping Kaity's position as the youngest. Aidan lived with us for two years before her mom finally moved out on her own, but since we do all her baby-sitting, (while mom is at work, and school) she's still with us a large amount of the week. Before Aidan moved out, was born, and his first year was horrendous! I spent more hours at Drs appts, specialists, hospitals, and doing research, than I can count. And we always had to be careful about who could visit, because " god forbid " we passed any germs on to . I know that even though Kaity loves Bran, she resented the restrictions imposed by his presence. Now I believe I might have been TOO understanding. We've found ways to deal with the " attitude " problem, (major loss of priviledges) but I don't think it would have ever gotten so bad to begin with, if I hadn't passed it off as my own fault for all the hours spent away from home. My mom's theory is that the teenage years are God's way of loosening the bonds between parent and child, so that when the kids move away, it's not quite so heart rending. Everyone is ready for a little space! LOL As Kaity is my fourth child, and I've already been through this 3 times, let me assure you that it DOES get better. Once the kids are out on their own, facing the big bad world, you won't be considered quite as " stupid " as you are now. It's all a matter of sticking to your guns, being consistent, and just hanging in there until the process comes to an end! Hugs of support coming your way!
