I didn't have a choice and had to do it in the hospital and my insurance

won't cover it. So my vote is for the surgical site, whether my insurance

covered it or not. Mine just wasn't that big of a deal.

I met with a surgeon initally who said since my insurance wouldn't

agree to cover my surgery he would like to do just the lower in his

office.

The big reason I said no was because upon the birth (c-section) of my

second born 6 years ago, I had a fluky thing happen where I bled out

(doc's fault) and was given a blood transfusion which saved my life.

Little blood loss typically occurs with jaw surgery but I wouldn't

have taken my chances.

I went to a second OS who wasn't as experienced perhaps but very

thorough and was able to convince my insurance to cover it. He did my

surgery with a very experienced plastic surgeon in a hospital. My

surgery (upper/lower/genio) was last Thurs and so far I am very

pleased with my experience.

I'm not against surgy centers having had eye muscle surgery in one but

I'd ask alot of questions. My jaw surgery was more than just lower so

I don't know how much easier it will be for you. I would have a nurse

come to my home if I wasn't able to spend the night. They made sure

my oxygen levels were up, checked my blood pressure, temp, and helped

syphon off some blood throughout the day/eve. That's with no

complications.

GADZOOKS!!!

I am hoping all this gobbledegook is an honest mistake. It's

certainly a nuisance, Miz Kathy...

I am soooooooooooooooooo sorry. I think the hardest part about being on

these sites is figuring out how to manage them. I get copies of my own posts,

which I certainly don't need.

Again, as soon as I get off these meds, I will try to figure it out.
