Hi ,

Hope your family in New Orleans area is ok. It's really sad to see

the situation there. I have a friend and husband who live on the

north side of Lake Ponchatrain (sp). I haven't heard if they left

before the hurricane or what. Sure hope they're ok. She & I used

to work together in California. My prayers are with the people who

have suffered so badly from the hurricane. Let us know if you find

out about your family.

Glad you were able to get into the OD. I sometimes think my

midlines will never be lined up. I, like you, wanted function. But

I still struggle with trying to chew. Teeth including molars are so

far forward and they pulled two teeth on bottom so they are closer

up front and it still feels weird to chew and now the tongue has

gotten irritated from trying to chew. (Molar with crown - brackets

sticks out too much and irritates the tongue!) So I have wax on

lingual side of teeth to try to heal that up. And then this morning

I woke up with a sore throat, so gargled & rinsed with salt water

for both. Sure hope I'm not coming down with something.

I can't wait for the braces to come off - but unfortunately I still

have a while!!

I'm not sure how this going to be next week, eating in public with

the rubber bands & wax. I hate to remove them in public. Guess,

I'll have to just stay with softer foods. I still feel like I can't

chew with my mouth closed (guess I'm going to have to take very

small bites). I'm always putting my hand or napkin over my mouth.

Sorry to hear you're still in such tight bands. Glad to hear they

took off some of the surgical hooks.

I sure hope the cost of wax doesn't go up ;), we'll all be in

trouble as the OD never gives me enough!! I think I need stock in

the petroleum industry!

Shirley
