Guest guest
I am so glad to see this thread. I am getting ready to have surgery soon (hope to have a date by Friday.) I need to check on a couple of my meds for blood pressure. Guest guest
Gads, , given the aspirin, E, etc, it's good to have you with us. <G> I did continue my centrum chewable up until about 2 days before surgery, but quit everything else. Wish I had continued my colace, believe me. I'm just back from a double round of plastics in CR. The docs are very pleased with my healing, but I will say that the second round (arm lift w/lip and breast lift w/implants) has not remitted as fast as the first (full face lift, brow lift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, upper/lower lids, lip enhancement, TT, leg, waist and back lipo). All my initial drains came out at 3 days (TT and face lift - 3 drains). (traditional with these docs - they do a series of internal stitches which stitch the layers together on the TT, so the drains can come out earlier). Pam in Niceville Re: Confused re panni instructions As one who bled and bled and bled after a " mini " facelift which should have taken about 10 days to heal from completely which ended up requiring a pump hanging out of my ugly neck for weeks, drop everything except prescriptions before your surgery. A week or two isn't going to hurt anything. There are people who never take supplements and manage to live somehow, although I won't be in that particular group of " gamblers. " Seriously, your doc may not even know what supplements might cause excessive bleeding or other complications since many dietary supplements are not studied that scientifically. I was taking many things that thinned blood, apparently. The surgeon's wife also warns against excessive Vitamin E pre-surgically, since everyone hears it helps with healing. I was taking Omega fatty acids, glucosamine, baby aspiring, Vitamin E and god knows what else. Next time, I will drink water and protein before any surgery, nothing else. in Austin RNY April 1998 315/190s
