Guest guest
Hi Cherie, It's more common to hear about screw & hardware removal on these sites since we are a support site, although it's isn't a large percentage that have to have it done. It's usually because of infection. Sometimes screws work themselves lose, and plates can break. I've heard of people having it done up to 1 or 2 years post- op (and generally sooner than that), but not much longer than that. I have my full set of hardware still intact and hope not to have any problems from it. Glad you found us anyway. 15 year vet? I'm impressed that your only problem was hardware removal (and a tough removal at that, but still less than the original surgery, I'm sure). > Hi All ! > I'm new to this group and find it very helpfull, I wish it was around > 15 years ago when I had my le forte I.
