We fill the syringe and then let it sit on the counter for 1/2 hour

before doing 's shot. We also do it when he is asleep. We do

not swab with alcohol because that can cause it to sting if it hasn't

completely dried.

hey rachel!!

take the gh out of the fridge about 15-20 min before you are going to

do the shot so it can warm up a little. also are you wiping him with

the acholhol? we dont and were told we really didnt need to esp. since

we give it to him before bed after his bath. the acholoh can cause

some burning if it isnt completely dry when you do the shot. also

where are you giving it? we could only do christopher's thighs for the

first 8 months because he didnt have enough fat on his arms so there

was nothing to pinch up so it hurt. good luck!! also get him a

calendar and use stickers as a reward. make a big deal out of it when

he is awake and getting his shot (high fives and the sticker) also if

he is awake try not to wait until he is almost asleep, he would

probably cry or scream not moatter what you do to him at that point, we

usually do it about a 1/2 hour before bedtime. let us know how you

make out!!

Hi -

Things will get better with this I promise! It is just like nothing for

Laikyn any more. We use the LMX cream with her and she only complains about the

cold of medicine going in. She really has surprised me with this because I

never thought she would handle all of this. She still is talking about the

nurse

in NYC who did lab draws on her. She makes me laugh though!
