About 4 weeks post op of up/low I bit through hamburger. A McD

handburger ganted, so mostly bread, but being able to bite off clean

was very nice.

Yann,

I'm 9 weeks (2 months and 1 week) post op and have still not bit

through a burger or sandwhich for that matter. My OMS won't allow it

just yet. I did tentatively bite into a very soft piece of slice

bread the other day and it did feel VERY strange but my fiancè was so

proud of me because he had never seen me bite into something like a

normal person. I'm sure you'll be biting into a burger within 6

months. Your recovery sounds a little slower than for other people

but I wouldn't give up hope. The numbness will get better and you'll

be biting into that juicy burger before you know it!

Yann, you'll be able to do a children's burger sooner than that! I

had a Happy Meal about 6 weeks post-op, and boy oh boy, was I happy!

Of course, nowadays I'm a vegetarian, so it's Boca Burgers for me.

They taste a lot better and the animals are happier.

President's Choice (in Canada) makes an awesome Portobello mushroom

& swiss cheese burger, and they also claim to have the world's best

meatless burger.

I'm definitely more cautious post-op about opening terribly wide for

things like burgers, though. It's not healthy to try to wrap your

jaws around some of the giant skyscraper burgers they serve these

days.
