Guest guest
Hi Crosbysmommy's Dad I hope we can help. I haven't hear of any of those things. For my son, we used periactin (cyproheptadine). It helped him quite, a bit. What we would do is give him his periactin about an hour before each meal and then let him eat while he watched his favorite videos. Often, we would sit with him and feed him ourselves. We would often sneak calories into his food by adding kayro syrup to his gogurt, or butter and cream to his scrambled eggs. Sometimes we would add a little oil to some of his foods too. Some people also add powdered milk to some of the foods. Also, ask your doctor or nutritionist about polycose. It is a flavorless powder that can be added to foods and help boost calories. Again, some people have success using the instant breakfast drink or energy boosters. Careful, some of these are too high in protein for small children. Now he is doing well enough that we do not have to resort to some of these things. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Matt. You need to tell to email or call me. Tell her to take it easy and not to worry too much until you all see Dr. H. She will help point you in the right direction or give you some advice on what to do. I don't have any suggestions to offer you. Isn't Crosby on Periactin? Dr H may be able to tweak that for you a little and see what happens. Is Mimi on it? She may need to be. I am so sorry to hear that is so stressed. I would love to talk if she is up for it. I don't know what her schedule is like, so tell her to give me a ring if she wants. Give her my best and tell her I am thinking about her. Take care, Jodi R.
