Guest guest
I am curious to know this answer as well.. I am eating well and having formed BM's for the most part.. But I am still not putting the weight back on.. Lost 11 pounds so far.. To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, September 13, 2010 10:26:17 PMSubject: when does weight come back? Hi,For those of you who have had problems with weight loss after starting the diet, when did you start putting on weight again? I eat a lot and can say that I eat almost everything on the diet, but I seem not to be able to put enough weight. People still claim that I am on the skinny side. Does it take years to go back to normal weight?Hope you are all well! Lilia
Guest guest
Hi Lilia, Losing weight was a real concern of mine starting this diet, and I did loose a little in the initial stages but have since regained and platued on a pretty healthy weight. After I had lost a bit of weight I made a real effort to always snack on cakes I had made with plenty of butter and slice similarily with plenty of butter and some yoghurt. It was around the 6-10 month mark that my weight really came back and settled. Hope this helps. To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, 14 September, 2010 1:26:17 PMSubject: when does weight come back? Guest guest
I have tried with success the weight gain shake on pecanbread.com Avacodo, SCD yogurt 1/2 to 1 cup, 1/2 cup juice (I used knudsen brand), 1 ripe banana, honey, ice, and water if it is too thick... tastes good and help with cravings.. Guest guest
Wha do you do if you have bad reactions to dairy and honey? Guest guest
I started the diet at 95 pounds, then at about 3 or 4 months, lost 5. At around 6 or 7 months I finally started gaining, and quickly got to 105. At this point, I only average about 1300 calories a day, so I'm not currently gaining. Guest guest
Don't eat them. Maybe wait a few months and try again when more healing has taken place. Guest guest
I think it is individual. I lost weight at the beginning- gained it back over 6 months and now I don't want to gain any more. Too much dripped yogurt, honey, nut butters, and SCD goodies can add on the pounds after a while. Lots of cheese can too. Baked squash with butter or olive oil...frozen bananas with coconut oil or nut butter on top..I could eat nut butters all day long if I could get away with it... Guest guest
Holly, what's your height? Is 105 pounds underweight? I weigh 104 now and my doctor claims I am underweight. > > > > Hi, > > > > For those of you who have had problems with weight loss after starting the diet, when did you start putting on weight again? Guest guest
Hi all, I was always 130 pounds my whole life at 5'8 " . Now I weigh 120. I am more worried about the osteopenia I have in my lumbar spine, more so than the weight. I would like to be at least 125, then I wouldn't look so gaunt. Thanks, June
Guest guest
I never gained back all of my weight. When I got really sick, i lost 37 pounds. I am 5' 8.5 " and weighed 145 before a flare. Lost the 37 in the flare and only ever went back up to 132 over a period of 3 years on the diet. I stayed at 118 for a good year. HOWEVER, I think " normal " is something we cannot define. I felt great, had energy, my hair was growing back, I was living, so I didn't care that I was a little on the thin side. But I am still not putting the weight back on.. > Lost 11 pounds so far..> I lost 60 pounds in a year (less than a year, actually) on the diet. I haven't gained it back. None of it. But don't despair. I'm also on LDN, and for some people, that impedes weight gain. I'm obviously one of them.I'm now too thin for my height (I'm almost 5' 11"), but I'm as healthy as I've pretty much ever been in my adult life (I'll turn 58 in a couple of weeks), so I'm not worried about it. I can't wear sleeveless blouses anymore, but that's the least of my concerns.n-- Now available. Guest guest
Maybe there is a wider range of " normal " weight for any given person than we have been used to thinking. Perhaps " normal " depends on diet, energy levels, how one feels etc. I'm one who lost five pounds initially, then a few months later regained it, I assumed from improved absorption. Now I'm five pounds fatter than that and not pleased AT ALL. But OK, I can put up with this for awhile because I really do think weight will normalize for most of us over time, and I know I am not healed yet. Or maybe this " extra " five pounds is my new normal. I guess I can put up with that if I feel good again after awhile. Meanwhile, the bigger size pants I bought this summer are working fine. Guest guest
I'm 5'4 " . I'm sure doctors think 105 is underweight, but I don't think I look underweight. My bones don't stick out, like a lot of skinny people on tv/movies do. I even have a fat gut. What I need is muscle mass (muscle weighs more then fat), and then I'd be at a doctor approved weight. I don't exercise though, so I have puny muscles. My skinniest since having crohn's was 85 pounds, so I think 105 is a pretty dang good number ;-). Guest guest
I do a loose, on the shelf, rotation of olive, grapeseed, coconut, safflower, sunflower, and almond. In truth, though, I use a lot more olive. Just love the taste. Artful Carol > > Carol, what kinds of oil do you eat? I haven't tried this option.
