Upper jaw segmentation and teeth roots

I'm supposed to have my jaw sectioned into three pieces for my

upcoming upper only jaw surgery on aug. 24th. Last week, my surgeon

showed me my panarama x-ray and said he was a little worried about one

of my teeth roots. My orthodontist used springs to open up gaps

between my teeth. The teeth moved apart, but one of the roots

actually kind of curves into the gap. He said that if the root gets

disturbed, I might need a root canal later. Anybody else have this

problem? He is invetigating the possiblity of doing it all in one

piece, but doesn't think it will work since my front teeth need to go

up more than my back to fix my lip imcompetance.
