Net carbs are usually carb grams less fiber and sometimes sugar alchohols. To figure out carbs for Atkins, you subtract the fiber grams from the carb count. That gives you your net carbs - in other words, the grams of carbs that will affect your weight loss. So if you are trying to stay at, say, 20 grams of carbs a day (haha), you want to know the net carb number as that is the number you would use in figuring your intake for the day. Unless you are following Atkins and counting carbs, it's not something to worry about. I use the South Beach way of eating, so even though net carbs are an interesting concept, I don't worry about them too much. hugs, Ann
