Guest guest
ugh i right some timesit is just not fair. jacob also has the time with overnight bedwetting. i wish i also could fix it what made me say this is that it seemed to go away for a wile then now is back again maybe 2x a week. althought has not had daytime problems. my heart goes out to max on this. cara mom to jacob Jodi Zwain wrote: Looks like we are now going to be adding, once again, a urologist to the list of specialists. I thought we were done with that area of expertise. Max's voiding problems are getting worse, to the point where he wet his bed last night and almost had a couple of accidents yesterday and today while at school and out socially this evening. I can't think of too much that is more embarrassing for a 17 year old than a fear of wetting his pants. Dr. H. was really good, though. I emailed her this morning, begging her to reconsider prescribing meds for Max until we get to the urologist. This evening she emailed a scrip for DDAVP, a nasal spray Max can use at night to help keep him dry overnight. She also insists that I take him to her recommended dr. in NYC at Cornell. For now, I have an appt. for Max to see someone in town, about 10 minutes from here. That is for Thursday. But I will call the dr. in NYC and see how long we have to wait. The last thing I need is for her to be angry that I did not take Max to someone that she considers the best. I figure I can take him to our dr. first and then hers when the time comes. Guest guest
No, Jody, we never found out. The urologist used to just prescribe meds and tell us that if it continued despite the meds, he would investigate further. Max did have an ultrasound done and everything was fine. He's not had hypospadius or anything. I guess I am going to have to take him into NYC. Now that I think about it, we have never not given Max the best care we could find. He needs a voiding study done which will be kind of embarrassing for him, but may give us answers. They put some sort of wires on him and they can assess how long it takes him to void and what the urine output is. Like you, we need a break over here! Guest guest
Jodi, Ugh. Poor Max. Yes, that would have to be hard for him to have to worry about wetting himself all the time, especially being out with his friends. That would cause a little stress. I am so glad that Dr. H. came through with those meds. though. Please let us know what you find out. And, yeah, you should probably see the doctor that Dr. H. recommended. I know how she can be about stuff like that! LOL. Although, she was so much more laid back at our last visit. And, I know you said that also said they saw the " good " Dr. H. this last time. I was thinking I heard someone else comment on how focused and laid back she was. I can't remember now who it was though. ;o) Keep us posted, JR > > Looks like we are now going to be adding, once again, a urologist to > the list of specialists. Guest guest
Jodie, You've been bammed, too! I think all the Jodies, Jodis and Jodys on this listserve deserve a break (and so does everyone else, for that matter, but I had to single out the Jodi's because I've never known so many!!!). On a more positive note, the nasal spray did work for Max last night. But the daytime apparently has not been as successful. The nasal spray is not meant for the daytime, though. I think Max cannot wait for Thursday. I'm even taking half a sick day to take him. Jodi Z
