Guest guest
, Thanks for responding along w/all the others. I too need to have some work done on my nose (dev.septum). I am thinking about having it all done together. It's encouraging to hear the success stories. Re: inplants . I'm 20 years old and was born with a cleft lip and palate due to the cleft I am missing a lot of my teeth and my upper jaw stopped growing. I'm five months post op from upper jaw surgery, major nose reconstruction, cheek bone and bone graft surgery. It was a comlicated surgery and lasted 14 hours but it was all worth it. Hope wrote: Hi to all, Been lurking and asking some questions for about a week now and perhaps should explain my situation better. I am 47 years old. I have pretty bad top teeth and I went to the dentist to see about dental inplants and a prothesis on the upper. He sent me to orthodontist/oral maxilliofacial of which said in order to do the inplants, I would need either bone grafts or move my jaw up some. So, in the surgery he wants to pull my top 3 teeth (they are not very good and will not last but a few more years anyway). He also wants to move the top jaw forward and he also wants to insert the inplants. I think that is a LOT of stuff being done at one surgery. Anyone else having anything like this done? I am scared but I have had a second opinion and that dentist says the same thing: its either bone grafts or surgery. Also, my jaw is quite out of line w/bottom jaw. I brought this up now because I have recently noticed that there are some women/men in the group that are around my age. The only positive I see here is that I am not in braces and do not have to worry about being " wired " . Thanks for the input.
Guest guest
, I was a little worried at first when my surgeon said he could do all that in one surgery. I have had many other surgeries and was worried that maybe it woudl be too much. But after talking things through with my mum and the surgeon I was happy to go ahead. I'm so glad I had so much done in one go. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Try it free.
