We are all lured into the " supersize " mindset -- after all, sometimes it is cheaper to buy the " value meal " with large sandwich, fries and drink than it is to just buy the sandwich and a small drink by themselves. I would say that buying the quarter pounder was situation that you would have been better off to have avoided. If you only have a small quantity of food available, that's all you can end up eating; when there's more food sitting there, it's easy to gradually nibble at it over time and end up eating all of it. Consider ordering the " Happy Meal " -- it's small burger and fries is what an actual " adult " serving SHOULD be -- if our society wasn't all encouraged to stuff ourselves. Speaking of Mc's and their value meals -- back before surgery I used to love the breakfast sandwiches -- and I always wanted a drink to go with that -- but, since I was always in a diet mentality, I always passed on the hash browns (sometimes I would eat TWO sandwiches, but feel superior because I had passed on those " fried " hash browns LOL.. go figure!) -- anyway, occasionally they would have specials where the breakfast sandwich, hash brown and drink was cheaper than buying the sandwich and drink separately. I got tired of arguing with the " box " in the drive through that I wanted the price of the " value " meal, but didn't want the hash browns -- so, I'd order the value meal, then when I got handed the bag from the pick up window, I'd reach in, pull out the hash brown and hand it back to the person and say, would you throw this away please? They'd ask, and I'd say, " believe it or not, it's cheaper this way.
