Guest guest
Hi Rene- Sorry to hear you are having so much frustration. I hope things turn up for you soon! Samara reni_mill wrote: To recap, my OD sent me to UNC because they said my problem was too severe for them. I started this process with my OS four months ago, and was heart-broken when I was referred to UNC. I just want to get the braces and get started. I finally got my appt at UNC, but it's not until Dec 5th. The secretary did say she would call with any cancelations, and there is only one other person ahead of me on that list. I will be seeing Dr. Turvey and I've heard a lot of good things about him. Apparently, they are going to make molds, Xrays, ect at the first appt. I am hopeful that they will use the ones I just had done (at least some of it). I've already had to pay for them 2x. Until then, I'll just play the waiting game. I hope I find help at UNC. I'm so frustrated. Of course, if I don't get in soon, I know my husband will not be here for the surgery (he leaves for a year in May). Also, someone posted that they would be getting a partial (of sorts) and having their teeth pulled. I asked about this but did not get a response. Why would they pull your teeth? I haven't heard of this before. If anyone knows fill me in. Curiosity is killing the cat. Thanks for all the support and info I find on this board. ~Rene
Guest guest
Hi Reme, I sympathize with you about the delays and wanting to get started. I had a long wait getting preapproved from my insurance plan, and of deciding which OD to go with. I went to several OD consults as I was also told my mouth would be very complex. It meant that chosing the OD would be more important. I am glad you are going to someone who can help you with your situation. I hope he can use the molds too. Good luck! Let us know what you find out. Hugs, Fran > To recap, my OD sent me to UNC because they said my problem was too > severe for them. Guest guest
Thanks Dennis! I think I am being taught a lesson in patience. None of my doctors so far have been military. They won't do the ortho but would do the surgery, but I have a civilian surgeon already. I just hope I can get the surgery done before we leave here (we may be moving in May '07). Is your recovery going better? ~ Rene > > To recap, my OD sent me to UNC because they said my problem was too > > severe for them. Guest guest
Rene - I'm so sorry to hear about the delay to the start of your process. Too bad they (your doc's) can't get you an earlier appointment at UNC. Hang in there - I know it's hard to be patient. Take care and keep us posted. ~~~~ Diane > > To recap, my OD sent me to UNC because they said my problem was too > > severe for them. Guest guest
Good Morning Rene Yup The recovery is doing alot better. Pain is very litte and is now controled with just some simple tylenol. I still have a little swelling. More on one side than the other so I have a lopsided face. Other than that I am starting to think that if I had to do it all again I would. Last thursaday when I seen my OS he asked that and me still feeling like crap said no way. Now that I am feeling 80% better I can say that I would. Can't wait to get this splint out. That is the biggest problem trying to talk. Everytime I say somthing at home most of my family says Huh? Oh well I guess better than being wired. Have a good day. Dennis~ In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " reni_mill " <reni_mill@y...> wrote: > Thanks Dennis!
