Hey Tonya,

That is great that you were only under for 3.5 hours and that everything went

perfectly. I wondered about Angel as well, I was sure that she would be back on

before me...I was sure that I would be back on before I was - so maybe she is

just still not up to it. It took me 5 days to be able to even turn on the tv.

I slept the entire time. I hope she is okay.

Yes, I do have a splint in. I HATE it...but I get it out on Wednesday. I AM SO

HAPPY!!! I will be getting bands put in, but at least I will be able to talk

more normally because I will not have this huge plastic thing in my mouth! :)

Have you been able to brush your teeth yet? I have this really cute Winnie the

Pooh baby tooth brush, and I thought that it would be much longer till I could

brush, but at 7 days post op I was able to brush my teeth...I was so excited

because I hate having that nasty taste in my mouth!

As I am writing this, my mother just handed me this bean soup...she was really

proud of it, she thought it was really good, but I could not eat it. I have

never been much of a bean person. Hopefully we can figure something out that I

will like to eat soon. I am glad that I like jello and yogurt

(strawberry/cherry), b/c I am mostly eating those things. But I like the potato

soup that my mom gave me yesterday and today, I just have to be careful of the

chunks that I put in my mouth, that I can swollow them.

Hey, about meds...were you on liquid pain meds? By day 5, I looked at my mother

and said that there was no way that any liquid medication was going into my

mouth again! Well, the next day my doc gave me a prescription for pill for

antibiotics and said that I could use motrin and tylonol pm. And get this...I

haven't used ANY pain meds since last Thursday, Day 7! I figure that I have

lived with so much pain for the last 10 years that my pain tolerance has been

built up, but I am really only feeling a minor discomfort in my chin and that is

it. I thought that I would be in a lot more pain.

Well, I have rambled on for a while now. Talk to you later.

I have been wondering about you and Angel. I still haven't heard

anything out of her. We all had our surgeries the same week. Mine the

9th, Angel's the 8th. I've been back on since day 4. I had upper and

lower and palate widened. I hope everything is ok with Angel. Glad to

heard you are coming around. This has been quiet an ordeal. My surgery

only lasted 3.5 hours and the doc said everything went perfect. I

still have a lot of numbness in my whole face. I can't believe you

already have most of yours back. What bothers me the most is around my

nose. Some of it is coming back but not all by far. The right side of

my face is more swollen than the left. The swelling is about 60% gone.

But I still look really funny. Do you have a splint? I can't stand it.

I drink out of Dixie cups. Its pretty easy. And I can eat out of a

baby spoon. I blend up can chilly with cheese and sour cream, really

good. And mostly soups, mashed potatos and gravy from KFC and drink

milk, juice and water. Glad your back. Now we're on the other side of

the fence. Tonya
