When I first got on my braces, the inside of my mouth hurt a lot where

the braces were rubbing against it. I used a lot of wax. After about a

week, it got better. Everytime the OD adjusted my braces, my teeth

would hurt for several days. I had my braces for about 1 1/2 years,

then I got (I do not know the technical name) and operation on my upper

jaw to widen it. This happened last October. I had to wear an

appliance on the roof of my mouth and turn it more open every day to

continue to widen my palate. That finally came off 3 months later.

Then in July, I had an operation to bring my jaw forward. I'm still

recovering from that. In 4 more weeks the OD will begin the final

stages of moving my teeth (I have a few gaps between them). She said it

will take 6 - 12 months to finish everything. Orginally I was quoted 18

months for the entire process, which is really taking 3 years.
