Madison update Friday #2

Today we were moved from SCU into a regular room. Maddy is fever free and has

been since last night. The cultures they ran look odd. It appears as tho she

doesn't have a staph infection in the port like they had previuosly thought.

They are waiting for the infection to finish growing but as of right now it

looks like sepsis possible eccoli ( not sure how it's spelled ). We have no idea

how this would have happened since Maddy doesn't even eat. Thats why she got so

sick so fast. If the culturs are finished growing by tomorrow and they find the

right antibiotic to treat it then she may be able to go home tomorrow. So keep

you fingers crossed. I will be sure to keep everyone posted once I meet with the

infectious disease doctors. Also she still had an allergic reation to the

Vancomyicn even tho they give her premeds first. So now they have to give it

really slow ( over 2 hours ).
