How is hubby doing, Jac? Are you hearing from him regularly now?

And, how are you bearing up. The holidays may be lonely for you (AND

for others with spouses deployed overseas). Don't hesitate to let us

know if and when you feel blue.

Best,

Steve

Hubby is doing okay. One day fades into the next. I'm holding up pretty good

now. I went through several weeks of severe depression, and let it get the

best of me in self-destructive ways. Then, my hubby's best friend got hold

of me, and told me that he couldn't stand to see what I was doing to myself,

and he wasn't going to allow it to continue. It made me see what I was

doing. And I think I have snapped out of it. Fred has been able to call me

several times. Their email system sucks.

As for the holidays, I really had mine today. I am a member of the Elks

Lodge, and today we delivered Christmas food baskets to needy families. It

is an experience that makes you grateful for all you have. Christmas day,

I'm staying home, alone, and baking cookies and making candy to send to

Fred, and waiting for him to call. That is MY choice, and I'm not doing it

to feel sorry for myself. It's just what I choose to do. Every year, when I

go to my mother's in Texas, one of my sisters starts a fight. This year, I

choose to NOT fight. One of my sisters is in prison (drug charges) nearby (8

miles), and she has visitation on Christmas. I will probably go over and

visit with her for a little while. I know she'll be lonely, and unhappy,

away from her 5 year old daughter. We can cry together. :) I can't take

anything in to her, but she'll be happy to see me.

Thank you for asking, Steve.

Jac
