Guest guest
Sandy, WHEW HEW! Congratulations on making it to the semi-finals. I totally understand your frustration of not being able to attend. I live for my kids' sporting and academic events. Like you, I never miss unless absolutely necessary. Although it won't be quite the same, maybe someone could videotape the game for you. Good luck to you with your surgery and your son's big game. Please keep us updated on both events! EXCITING!! My son's college soccer team just made it to the semi- finals (won yesterday to make it....what a game!!!). He's a Senior. They play on Friday (11/4)....I have surgery on Wednesday (11/2), what terrible scheduling I made!!! I am so terribly bumbed that I can't make it for his play-offs (I'm one of those parents that has coached, also plays and has been at 99.9% of my children's athletic/academic events). At the moment, I'm working on having friends come to check in on me on Friday until my daughter can make it home from college to stay with me so my husband can go and support the team....and that is all dependant on when I come home from the hospital...the goal is Thursday. Sorry, but I've just been so totally bumbed about it and thought writing would help....atleast it's kept my mind off being nervous. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, First of all, congratulations seem in order!! That is fantastic! Your entire family must be thrilled. It is so easy to blame ourselves as partents when we are unable to be with our children during each of the amazing times for them. But I believe that your being there the other 99.9% is one of the reasons he is where he is today! And it sounds like you have already made arrangements so that you can have the support you need while your husband is there for the play offs. I would definately be bumbed out too, but it sounds like you have made the best of the situation. Please let us know how he and his team does if you feel up to posting then. And good luck to you on Wednesday too! Sending you best wishes for a great surgery, an uneventful recovery and fabulous results! Will watch for your posts as you feel up to posting!
