Guest guest
OK, Gang, gotta question for you. Last Sun my dh & I were coming back from T-Day in FL with my best friend. We were about 3.5 hrs from home when we stopped to eat at KFC. I know...not the best of places to go, but when your in the middle of nowhere in GA you take what you can get. I got fingers, baked beans & tater logs. Ate one finger, a few bites of beans and 2 or 3 small logs. Got back on the road and 15 min later...bam! Pain like I have never had before. Felt like someone had twisted my insides up and started pumping air into them. The spastic pain was in the middle of my belly under my breast bone. This lasted about 2.5 to 3 hrs. I have a high pain tolerance so I just toughed it out. I really didn't want to go to a hospital that I did not know. By the time we reached home, I was worn out, but almost pain free. I called my PCP on Mon and got to see him yesterday. He doesn't think that it's my gallbladder. Says that it's " Just your (WLS) surgery! " . GRRRRRRRRR! First everything is my fat and now it's my surgery?!?!? Anyhow, he sent me for a liver function test, so they drew my blood. Next I will have an ultra sound done on Fri. Anyone who has had something like this happen could you please give me your input? I deal with pain pretty darned good, but this is NOT something that I want to go through again. Seems to me that the high " fat " content of what I ate could have triggered the gallbladder? Had some trouble about a yr ago that testing found that I had sludge in there. I don't usually eat much fat and what we cook with at home is olive oil or peanut oil. Maybe it's time to find an new PCP. Kinda tired of being poo poo'ed all the time. I think that he thinks that I am just looking for attention or something. Couldn't possibly be that I am more attuned to my body now, could it (she says with sarcasam)? Any help would be appreciated!
