Guest guest
Hi all. I havn't been able to get on the computer in a few days, I need to catch up on e-mails! I wish my computer was a little faster, it is so slow with bringing up each message. We are now 2 weeks and a day out from Autumn's g-tube surgery. She has an infection now. I brought her to the ER saturday night because I thought it was infected and after 5 hours, 2 docs, and finally the surgeon on call they diagnosed her with a rash and gave me some cream to put on it. Well, the 'rash' got worse and I went in today for her follow up and said it is not looking good, and he said it is infected, he believes one of the stitches in her stomach and has an abcess that he said should rise to the surface and once it bursts it should clear up, she is also on antibiotics. It is red and nasty looking all around the button, especially the left side. she cries with feeds or anything that causes the button to move. A LOT of yellow stuff is constantly leaking under the button and crusting up, She is doing well otherwise but she is not gaining weight yet. She is now on solely supplemental feeds at night in bolus form (250 cals)and food during the day. The problem is that even though she is eating, it is not enough. We are working on it though. mom to Autumn 22 mos, Summer 4.5 mos, Ocean 3.5 yrs, Skye 7 yrs
