Guest guest
Nourishing Traditions isn't an SCD cookbook, but it has lots of information about (and recipes for) things like bone broths and fermented and cultured foods, including yogurt, cream cheese, buttermilk, butter, etc. (you have to be careful, not all of her recipes call for 24-hour fermentation), and also fermented vegetables (sauerkraut, kim chee and the like) and chutneys. And lots of good meat recipes, though again, you have to modify many of them since they may include grains or milk. She's from the Weston A. Price foundation, which you've probably also seen mentioned. They are anti-sugar, anti-refined foods, and pro-raw milk, pro-fermentation, and generally interested in promoting health by using food preparation methods found in traditional cultures. I've found this book really useful, and I find it pretty easy to pick out and/or modify recipes in it for SCD. You can also check out the Weston A Price website:http://www.westonaprice.org/ I'm not a member, but I heard Fallon talk a couple years back and it was really interesting!misha Several times I have seen this boook referred to. There are many excellent recipes in it, and information about traditional foods, but you do have to know your SCD so you know when to substitute on some of the things which are recommended. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
