I don't know about NY, but I can tell you as an ex-Southern Californian, the

water is undrinkable out of the tap. I think they must use filtered sewer

water...that is..if they even bother to filter it! It smells very strongly

of the sewage plant that I lived about 5 miles from! When I came to WA 8

years ago...I felt absolutely RICH being able to just turn on the tap..and

get drinkable water. I used to have to buy my water...now I have it hot and

cold running! Even my refrigerator dispenses it....Wow....

(PS: Just talking about water made me sneeze about ten times in a row! Does

anyone else sneeze when they drink water? I have done this ever since SX!)

I believe a few years ago, Manhattan was #1 on the list for the best

tasting tap water in the country. Any NY'ers remember that?
